Well, this post was supposed to be in regards to suicide. Instead, it is my farewell post to tumblr, at least for now. Due to major and serious health concerns, I am unable to keep up with daily blogging. Good luck to all the other bloggers out there. Hopefully, I will be back.
Day 4 Religion
Oh boy…religion. Can’t we just skip this one??
Considering my own personal struggles with this particular topic, I am unprepared to go into details regarding my views on religion. It is a very touchy subject. I will say, however, that I believe there is one God, Who is in control. Daily, there have been many little blessings and events to prove His existence and love.
If you want to know more than that, you’ll have to ask.
Day 3 Drugs and Alcohol
Yeah, I know…this is a day late. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was unable to post yesterday.
So…drugs and alcohol. I have no problems with alcohol…as long as the person consuming it is responsible. Hence, I have problems with people who are completely dependent on alcohol to get through life. Drinking a couple to have a good time is fine; drinking ‘til you are trashed, way uncool. And, if you are going to drink more than one, DON’T DRIVE! I don’t care if you “feel” fine and “in control”. Alcohol impairs the senses and you are taking many more lives than just your own into your hands when you sit behind the wheel of your car.
Drugs…legal or illegal? I have issues with both to be honest. It’s not the actual fact of using the drug that bothers me; it’s how many people become addicted. As I feel about alcohol, being dependent on a drug to get you through life is irresponsible of you, and very unsafe. I also feel that doctor’s tend to prescribe drugs to quickly for patients, which is only adding to addiction problems in this country.
So, in summary, if you want to drink or do drugs (preferably not illegally), be responsible and careful. Becoming addicted to a substance is far easier than people imagine.
Day 2 In The Next 10 Years
Where would I like to be in ten years?
Education: My hope is to have completed my BA in English with a minor in history, my masters in English and Deaf Education, and be in my Ph.D program.
Relationship: I hope to be married and starting a family, at least two children. Hopefully, I will also have a cheagle (beagle-chiwawa mix) puppy.
Location: Preferably down south where it is much warmer, or even in Puerto Rico serving on the mission field at the Deaf Mission School.
Miscellaneous: Have a novel written or at least partially written. Be teaching at a deaf school or at a collegiate level.
Day 1 Status: Single
I’m single. My phone number is…currently unavailable; sorry, guys.
While it is definitely the lonelier path, single life is also the best path for me at this time in my life. Yeah, I miss having a boyfriend (and hope that this single period doesn’t last too long!), but I have my schooling and jobs to keep me busy, as well as all the various appointments and activities I am involved with.
